Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy is a healthcare profession that works with people of all ages to address physical, sensory, or cognitive difficulties. Occupational therapists help children develop skills needed to be as independent as possible in daily life.

Early Intervention

Early intervention services are offered for children birth to 3 years of age. These services are provided in the home and help promote engagement in daily routines. Occupational therapists address play skills, sensory processing, fine motor skills, visual motor skills, learning, attention to task, daily living skills, sleep, and social skills. We work with the family and child in their natural environment to help promote development

We work with children who may have the following:

  • Fine motor delays (small movements of the hands like grasping and pencil grasp)

  • Hand-eye coordination 

  • Motor planning 

  • Birth injuries 

  • Brachial plexus injury

  • Broken bones (arm and hand)

  • Spina bifida 

  • Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis

  • Mental health or behavioral difficulites
